Media Lists

Guide

A media list is a named, persistent group of contacts for a brand - "Tech journalists," "Q4 launch targets," whatever grouping you reuse often. It's deliberately simple: a name, an optional description, and the contacts in it. Nothing about a list is dynamic or rule-based.

How it differs from filtering Contacts

Filtering the Contacts page is a one-off query - it disappears the moment you change the filter. A media list is a stored, named set of specific contacts that stays put until you edit it, and can be reused across multiple campaigns over time. There's no saved-search feature that automatically keeps a list in sync with a filter - membership only changes when you change it.

Building a list

From a list's detail page, search by name, email, or publication and click a result to add it one at a time - or use the "Browse & add multiple" button for a picker where you tick as many results as you want (selections persist across searches) and add them all in one go. There's still no CSV import for list membership specifically (you can still import contacts themselves in bulk first, then add them to a list). Removing a contact from a list only removes it from that list; it doesn't touch the contact record itself.

Using a list in a campaign

A list's detail page has a "Use in campaign" button that copies every contact on the list into a campaign of your choice in one action. This is a one-time copy, not a live link - editing the list afterwards doesn't add or remove anyone from campaigns it's already been used in.
