Social

Guide

The Social page lets you connect accounts and compose posts for a brand, with the same AI drafting panel used elsewhere in Envoy. It's worth knowing upfront which platforms are actually live, since the connection screen lists a few that aren't yet:

  • Bluesky and Mastodon work today - connect with an app password or access token, no OAuth needed.
  • LinkedIn works today via a real OAuth connection, if your instance has LinkedIn access configured.
  • X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and Threads are not available yet - they show as "coming soon" on the connection screen rather than being fully hidden, so you can see they're planned.

Composing a post

Write your content (with AI drafting available if you want a starting point), and choose what happens to it: Save draft to come back to later, Schedule for a specific date and time, or Post now to publish immediately. Bluesky's 300-character limit is shown live as you type; other platforms don't currently show a limit in the composer.

Scheduled posts are picked up by a background check that runs about once a minute, so there can be a short delay around the exact scheduled time. A post that fails to send shows up in a separate Failed list rather than silently disappearing.

Not part of Documents

Social posts used to be a "Social post" Document type, drafted the same way as a press release or pitch. That's since moved entirely to this page - composing, scheduling, and sending all happen here, with their own AI drafting panel, and Documents no longer offers a social-post type to create.

What you'll see - and won't

Once a post goes out, its card shows live like and repost counts, fetched from the platform each time you view it - for Bluesky and Mastodon. LinkedIn posts don't show numbers, since LinkedIn's stats API is gated to approved partners. There's no dedicated analytics view on top of this, though - no charts, no trend-over-time, no totals across posts. For anything beyond a single post's current count, you'll still want to check the platform itself.
